Jeanne Solan, a native of New Jersey, embarked on her ballet journey with the Harkness Ballet from 1968 to 1970. Her dedication and talent led her to serve as a guest soloist for the Deutsche Oper.

She then went on to collaborate with the Lar Lubovitch Dance Company between 1971 and 1973, and later joined the prestigious Netherlands Dance Theater 1 in The Hague from 1973 to 1977. Solan's love for ballet was evident as she danced with Dennis Wayne's Dancers from 1977 to 1979 before returning to the Netherlands Dance Theater from 1979 to 1986.

She continued to share her passion with the world, collaborating with the Lar Lubovitch Dance Company again from 1986 to 1988 and being invited to join the newly founded Netherlands Dance Theater 3 in 1993, where she completed her performing career in 1999.

Throughout her illustrious career, Jeanne Solan has had the privilege of performing a diverse repertoire, including classic pieces from esteemed choreographers such as Rudi van Dantzig, George Balanchine, Jerome Robbins, Alvin Ailey, John Butler, Glen Tetley, John Cranko, and many others.

Her versatility is further demonstrated by her participation in creations by a wide range of contemporary choreographers, including Jiri Kylian, Lar Lubovitch, William Forsythe, Mats Ek, Hans van Manen, Christopher Bruce, Nacho Duato, Nils Christie, James Vincent, Louis Falcons, Jennifer Muller, Martha Clarke, Paulo Ribiero, Patrick Delcroix, Sol Leon-Paul Lightfoot, and Johan Inger. This rich and varied experience has undoubtedly shaped her unique approach to ballet and her ability to adapt to different styles and choreographic visions.

For the past 20 years, Jeanne Solan has worked as an international teacher/ballet mistress with dance companies and conservatories worldwide.

She has also been assisting The Kylian Foundation in teaching Kylian's earlier works to various international ballet companies. In 1997, she was awarded the "Golden Theatre Dance Prize," presently known as "The Swan Award," for career achievement in The Netherlands.

She served as a Teacher/Ballet Mistress for Europa Danse in Paris, France, from 2008 to 2011. In 2020, Jeanne Solan joined the European School of Ballet as a Resident Ballet Mistress and is currently a faculty member/ballet teacher at Codarts University of the Arts in Rotterdam.
